This a group of small macaws that I have become interested in and I now have breeding pairs of Illigers and Yellow-collared.
Illigers macaws (Ara maracana)
naturally occuring in the wild in eastern Brazil, Paraguay and northeast Argentina.
Habitat: forest near water courses and coastal forest areas.
Yellow-collared macaws (Ara auricollis)
naturally occuring in central Brazil, northern and eastern Bolivia, northern Bolivia and north-west Argentina
Habitat: all types of terrain, humid forests, gallery forest along water courses, dry isolated grassland with isolated trees and cultivated land.
